【Zealy】Community activation tool with more than 1,000 communities and 4 million active users
It is an "action layer" service on top of any application.
Good morning.
I am Mitsui, a web3 researcher.
Today I researched about "Zealy.

What is Zealy?
Zealy is a platform that facilitates the growth and involvement of the web3 community by turning web3 community members into contributors. The co-founders defined it as an action layer on top of any application.
The service was originally called Crew3, but was renamed "Zealy" in April 2023. (The service remains unchanged.) It is already in use by over 1,000 communities and has 4 million active users.
More than 1,000 communities have already adopted the service and there are 4 million active users.
■Functions
Quest creation: Wide range of settings including Twitter followers, Discord participation, XX article creation, quiz responses, etc.
Leaderboards: Display rankings of XP points earned from quest completion
Sprint: Set a fixed period of time and pay rewards to those who complete quests and top performers
Analytics: Analyze quest achievement and other information at a glance
Create quests in the community and award XP points for completing them, and depending on the accumulation of XP points, post them on the leaderboard or send rewards called sprints.

■Features
Among the many tools that have been created to increase community engagement on the web3, Zealy has the following two key features.
Flexible quest settings
You can connect to Twitter, Discord, and wallets to automatically detect off-chain and on-chain information, and you can set up actions such as asking people to answer a quiz or write an article, as well as the permissions and deadlines for responses.
Leaderboards and Sprint Rewards
While some quests are permanent, the use case is more of a "sprint win showdown over a certain period of time". We are still imposing challenges on the community like game-style competitions, but we envision this as a more efficient way to operate.
Currently, anyone can use the system for free, so you may want to give it a try!
First, introduce it as a tool to solve issues.
Community activation-type tools are an area of particular interest to me, so I have looked into several of them in the past.
The timeline of my research and the timeline of when the products were released are somewhat different, but I feel that each time I research a new product, it is gradually becoming more sophisticated.
Even if it is web3, all business is about replacing existing behavior, so "what to replace" is important.
As for the community activation, I felt that it is a product that is difficult to use right now, although there is some sense of a problem. This is because activating a community is very abstract, and the reasons why things go wrong are intertwined in a complex way, so adopting a single product may not solve all issues.
However, Zealy had a big use case: "short term intra-community competitions". It is true that quizzes are given in Discord, and such game-style competitions are sometimes held, for example, if everyone actively spreads the word before the mint, they can win WLs. I feel that this has become a rather mainstream community activation measure.
Currently, the operation is not efficient, the tools are different, and the transparency is low, as the operation is human-powered and the information is collected using Google Forms. So, Zealy exists as a tool to efficiently operate that competition.
Certainly, I think it is easier for a community to introduce a tool if they are told that it is a tool that solves that sense of challenge. And there is also a possibility that after the introduction, it will be used on a daily basis.
By providing a function that absolutely streamlines one very straightforward use case before the value you essentially want to provide or the issue you want to solve, you can say that the product itself will be onboarded.
The research was very informative, both as a business strategy and as a product design.
This was my research on "Zealy". If you found the article interesting, we would appreciate it if you could help us by liking, commenting, and sharing it on social networking sites!
