  • Coinbase unveils x402 Bazaar, a discovery layer for AI agents.

  • Agents automatically discover, use, and pay for new services, evolving to self-improving.

  • Examples: automatic reservations by retrieving weather and event information, financial reporting, autonomous operation of AI cabs, etc.

  • The underlying "x402" protocol incorporates stable coin payments directly into HTTP.

Launch of Ethreactor, a global incubation DAO for Ethereum

  • Fracton Ventures and others led the establishment of Ethreactor, a global DAO for the Ethereum ecosystem.

  • A "distributed incubator collective" that connects hackathon organizations and local incubators around the world.

  • Graduated projects are assigned a 1% token to DAO and results are shared globally.

  • Participating organizations include ETHSydney (Australia), ETHCinco de Mayo (Mexico), and ETHBelgrade (Serbia).

Ethereum Layer 2 Kinto Shuts Down Following $1.6 Million Exploit in July

  • L2's Kinto decided to shut down after the July hack (577 ETH = $1.55 million leak).

  • Attackers minted 110,000 fake Kinto tokens and cashed them in at Uniswap, etc. Token price crashed 95%.

  • Attempted to rebuild with "Phoenix" recovery plan, but difficulty in raising funds and rising debt made it difficult to continue.

  • Founder Recuero contributed $55,000 of his own funds and promised to reimburse victims.

Bo Hines Appointed CEO of Tether's New U.S. Division; Company Announces USAT Stable Coin

  • Tether launches USAT, a U.S. regulatory compliant dollar-backed stablecoin.

  • Anchorage Digital is responsible for issuance and Cantor Fitzgerald for reserve management.

  • Bo Hines, former director of the White House Crypto Asset Council, was appointed CEO of the U.S. corporation.

  • Scheduled to launch by the end of the year, it aims to complement the existing USDT (approximately $169 billion in circulation).
