Today I will be writing on the topic "What is Web 4.0?"I will write on the theme of "What is Web 4.0?
I would like to point out that there is no set definition of Web4, so I will introduce the opinions of various people and define Web4 personally at the end of the article.This is only a forecast at this point in time, and may change as trends change.
What is Web 4.0?
By "web4," we mean the fourth generation of the web, a fully interconnected digital ecosystem internet space that combines the social interactivity of web2, the distributed autonomy of web3, and the intelligent capabilities of AI.
It's all very abstract and confusing, isn't it?As I refused to say at the beginning, this is one of the definitions that various people have proposed, so I hope you can get the big picture without getting too caught up in each word, just the big direction.
With the arrival of AGI in the next few years, we will have AI agents that do not just respond to commands, but predict, plan, and act.The story is that the intersection of that future and the web3 blockchain will lead to the realization of a new Internet.
This story is a mixture of "the age of AI agents by AGI (Agentic Web)" and "the position of blockchain in the Agentic Web.Since I am a web3 researcher, I believe that blockchain will be part of the core of the Agentic Web, which is sure to come in the future.
Why is blockchain at the heart of the Agentic Web?
The following is a quote from Vitalik's blog: As the AI market rapidly expands, AI-specific challenges that are highly compatible with blockchain such as data sovereignty, monetization, increased costs, and composability are emerging.
In addition, AI agents cannot open bank accounts.AI agents must have a wallet on the blockchain and conduct transactions with each other in order to conduct financial activities.Furthermore, AI cannot even make contracts, but smart contracts can perform the equivalent of contracts.
This may be a defensive view from the web3 side, but I believe that blockchain will solve that issue in a society centered on AI agents, and that is why I think it will be a mixed bag.
