Telegram Stars" are newly introduced in-app points within Telegram.
It was implemented in Telegram with the June 6, 2024 update.
This is not a crypto asset, it only functions like a point within Telegram.
Here is how it is used.
(1) Payment for digital goods and services
For example, content creators can publish paid photos and videoson their channels to earn Starsby publishing stars.Subscribers will only be able to view such posts if they have paid the author an unlock fee.
They can also be used for payments within the Bot or Mini App, thus serving as a new revenue stream for app developers.Stars earned by developers can be exchanged for $TON via an app called Fragment.
In addition, Telegram Stars complies with Apple and Google's latest policies on the sale of digital products and provides developers in the Telegram ecosystem and their users with access to in-app purchases in the mobile app store.
② Advertisement Submission.
You can use Stars to submit an ad to Telegram Ads, which allows you to promote the Telegram MiniApp and other products.The way this ad works is that anyone can advertise their bot, channel, or group by placing privacy-conscious ads on Telegram's public channels.
In addition, Telegram offers a special 30% discount on the advertising price, where Telegram will pay 30% of the fees that are deducted by Apple and Google app stores when placing an ad.
