Good morning.
This is Mitsui, a web3 researcher.
Today I researched "Sunflower Land.

What is Sunflower Land?
Sunflower Land is a farm game built on Polygon. The goal is to grow crops, collect resources, cook food, raise animals, create items, evolve characters, and expand your land to build an agricultural empire.
The beta version was launched in April 2022 and currently has over 150,000 users. One billion item NFTs have also been issued, making GameFi very popular around the world.
■Background of Establishment
Sunflower Land" was created as a sequel (renewal) of "Sunflower Farmers" GameFi.
Sunflower Farmers" was a farm game built on the Polygon chain as well, but it was so popular that it led to a 20-fold increase in the cost of gas for the entire Polygon blockchain. That's right.
As a result, the game was shut down in January 2022 and reborn as "Sunflower Land" to address the problems.
While "Sunflower Farmers" allowed multiple accounts to be created by a single person, "Sunflower Land" now allows only one account per person and requires a small amount of money ($5) to start playing.
This is to prevent bots and to attract people who enjoy the game in a healthy way.
■What you can do
The main things you can do are
Growing and harvesting crops
Cutting down trees, mining rocks and creating items
Creating food and leveling up characters
Raising animals
Land expansion
The game is not much different from a basic farm game. All items are NFT and can be bought and sold to other players.
■How to Play
Wallet Connect
Pay a small amount of MATIC ($5) and get Farm NFT
https://docs.sunflower-land.com/getting-started/how-to-start Get a Bumpkin NFT that becomes a character in the game (free)

From then on, you can grow crops and mine repeatedly as described above to increase your land, get items (NFT) to customize your Bumpkin NFT, and dress him up. Bumpkin NFTs can be leveled up by eating food that can be made from crops. The higher the level, the more you can harvest at one time, and the more efficient your farm will be.
Bumpkin NFTs are also dynamic NFTs that change their appearance when attached to items, and can be used as PFPs.
■The "SFL", a proprietary currency
There is an ERC20 compliant "SFL" token as a utility token in the game. These tokens can be obtained by harvesting and selling crops, and can be used to purchase in-game items.
■Team
The development company is Thought Farm, a Sydney-based game studio.
■Roadmap
Our goal is to expand the game as a farm game. Among other things, we are also experimenting with a metaverse function that allows users to interact with each other, and are aiming to build a metaverse starting from a farm game.
This is a research of the very popular GameFi's "Sunflower Land".
GameFi is universal
I must admit that I myself don't play GameFi very often, but when I do research on GameFi, I'm surprised to find that the order of magnitude is one or two orders of magnitude different.
It would be quite impressive for a Dapps service to have over 400,000 active users at this point, but it's not unusual for GameFi to have that. Also, I have never heard of NFTs issuing more than 1 billion items, which means that a tremendous number of transactions are taking place.
It is often said that the mass adoption of web3 starts with GameFi, and this order of magnitude difference makes sense.
Moreover, I feel that GameFi is easier to operate globally than existing games. By using NFT to exchange items, not in the currency of each country, but in-game currency or existing crypto assets, it can be implemented in the global market.
The fact that the game is globally accessible means that the market size will be that much larger, and from the user's point of view, the benefits of playing the game will be huge. This means that when you become a professional gamer, you will have a large margin to make money.
In the future, if real-time translation of both text and voice is made possible through AI and other means, the language barrier will disappear, and games will become like a metaverse space, and I feel that the day is not far off when they will become their own economic zone.
I will try to find a game that I can get into and play it myself!

Your explanation of the resource loop, land expansion, and the shift from $SFL toward a broader metagame makes the scale of Sunflower Land much easier to understand. I also liked the distinction between a farming game and a broader social and economic space; the roadmap context gives the token and NFT discussion useful grounding.
