🟣Mainnet Launch

On April 9, 2024, EigenLayer, a restaking protocol, and EigenDA, the first AVS on EigenLayer, were launched on the mainnet.

What is "EigenLayer"? If you are wondering what "EigenLayer" is, please click here first.

With the mainnet launch of "EigenLayer," the following three things are now possible

  1. Restakers can delegate their deposited funds to an operator of their choice.

  2. Operators can choose to register with EigenLayer and run AVS

  3. AVS can register for protocols starting with EigenDA (currently in beta)

The research article above provides details, but a simple illustration of how "EigenLayer" works is shown below. (The illustration has been simplified for clarity.)

With the above illustration in mind, there are three things that can now be done with the Main Net Launch.

(1) Listaker can delegate his/her deposited funds to the operator of his/her choice.

You can Delegate from the Operator page of the official App. It is similar to the experience of selecting your favorite validator in Staking.

(2) Operators can register with EigenLayer and choose to run AVS.
