🛒What is the Boson Protocol?

The Boson Protocolis aweb3 decentralized commerce layer. It allows tokenization, transfer, and transaction of any physical object as a redeemable NFT. It is sometimes described as d-commerce because it is a decentralized e-commerce site.

Specifically, the physical asset (RWA) is converted into a redeemable NFT (expressed as rNFT). This is not ownership of the RWA, but a tokenized delivery contract, which is a forward delivery contract for the RWA programmed within the smart contract.

To give you a better idea, let's look at how each of the buyer and seller sides uses the system.

■Buyer

First, you search for products in the marketplace, just as you would in regular e-commerce. From there, you connect to a wallet and pay the funds. Because the Boson Protocol is built on Polygon, the amount is denoted in $MATIC.

After committing, you can choose to redeem, sell for secondary distribution, or cancel. Since the redemption period is fixed, the seller decides what to do during the redemption period after commit. The redemption period can be set by the seller.

If you choose Redeem, future steps will be displayed. At this point, you may cancel your order. If you do so, the amount will be refunded to your wallet minus a cancellation fee set by the seller.
