Three Personal Biggest Trends and Three Biggest Trends for 2025【Part 2】
Share

Good morning.
Mitsui from web3 researcher.

Today's article is titled "My Personal 3 Biggest Trends and 3 Biggest Trends for 2025," in which I consider the trends that are likely to be exciting in the year 2025.Please note, however, that I have added the word "personal" to the title, so this is more of a subjective forecast than a bird's-eye view of the industry as a whole.

1, SocialFi
2, ZKP
3, Intent & Chain Abstraction

3 Personal Big Hole Trends for 2025

What is a big hole is different for each person, so please do not worry about too deep definitions.

1, SocialFi

SocilFi creates a temporary bubble, but I have the impression that it has not taken hold on an ongoing basis.A typical example is friend[...] tech, but although the instantaneous bubble was great, the service eventually virtually ended.tech, but although the instantaneous bubble was great, the service was eventually effectively terminated.

On the other hand, Blast's Fantasy[...].top has maintained its user base without much of a drop. Thus, there are applications that continue to exist even though they originate from social elements.

SocialFi also has friend[...].tech and Fantasy[.].top, but also distributed SNSs like Lens and Farcaster.

In addition to these two, there is also an area called InfoFi that visualizes social information, such as Kaito's Yaps, which is also attracting attention.

We believe that these areas will grow.We are particularly interested in distributed social networking sites such as Lens and Farcaster and InfoFi-like areas such as Yaps.

First, regarding the decentralized SNS infrastructure, we believe that full-on-chain SNS will show its true value, especially in the age of AI agents. It is very strong that all users have a wallet address and can interact with each other on the SNS.In fact, ai16z Founder Shaw calls Farcaster the programmatic app of the future, integrating Eliza.

In addition, Lens plans to release its own L2, Lens Network" will be released. After that, it is likely to become a hot topic at once when it comes to even issuing tokens.

As for Farcaster, we can say that it is also building its own economic sphere. The DAUs are not really declining, and there are still a certain number of people using it, and they continue to release features that only a full-on chain can offer, such as the release of the Frames framework, Clanker, etc.

The release of Anonworld, which allows anonymous posting on the Farcaster platform, and a platform called Kiosk, headed by the former CTO of Mirror, are in preparation, and more applications other than Warpcast are likely to emerge to further the excitement of the event.

In addition, Farcaster is also reportedly building its own chain called Snapchain.

A further characteristic of decentralized social networking sites is their high profitability. Here are the results of our calculations in a previous article: ARPU is more than three times higher than Twitter's.

With regard to services such as Kaito's Yaps, the concept of smart followers has recently become popular in order to see true engagement rather than just looking at the number of followers.I feel that services for visualizing these things will continue to grow in the future.

We also think that as peripheral services, distributed Discord like Towns and communication systems will grow a bit.

2, ZKP

I don't know if this is a big hole here either, and ZKP may be too broad, but I think it is time for ZKP-based services and protocols to grow.
